Baby Shower Theme: Whooo Loves Ya, Baby?
Crafters love this quirky bird, which is perfect for tapping into any mama’s nesting instincts. This shower has lots of do-it-yourself elements, so if the shower isn't a surprise, invite the mom-to-be to join in the process.
The Invite: It's time to get crafty and create the invites by hand! Let technology help by printing out the party details on one side of a colored flat card. Then, combine this adorable owl rubber stamp from Paper-Source with letter stamps to spell out the shower's theme: "Whooo Loves Ya, Baby?" on the front. For fun, stamp another little owl on the envelope too.
The Decor: Go for a bohemian vibe by combining natural shades of brown, orange, yellow, and green. Give tables a casual look by layering on nubby burlap or raw linens. Bring pops of color — and lead guests to their seats — with these adorable, easy-to-make place cards from Paper-Source. Then, instead of flowers, fill tall wooden vases with faux, natural-looking fillers and long colorful feathers. Punch up the quirky vibe by adding a few plush, handmade owls from Rock Scissor Paper around the room.
The Cake: In place of a traditional cake, a gaggle of cupcakes decorated to look like baby owls (use opened-up Oreo cookies for eyes) would be a hoot! Or, if cake decorating isn't your thing, whip up a batch of the mom-to-be's favorite cupcakes, then add owl stickers to the tops of wooden drink stirrers and insert them into the cupcake centers.
The Game: Play a game of "Whooo's that baby?" Instruct guests to bring a baby photo of themselves. Number each one and then display them on a large magnetic dry-erase board. During game time, have guests take turns viewing the photos and guessing which baby is who. Pass out a prize such as these modern Owl magnets from Paper-Source, to the winners.
The Favor: This trio of owl soaps from Wrapables makes a great favor, reminding guests of what a "hoot" the shower was!
