It's Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, where the highest of the high end designers are showcasing their latest sartorial confections. From Dior to Versace, beautiful gowns have taken over the streets of the City of Light — including those from Chanel. In case you weren't at the Chanel show (it's okay, our invite got lost in the mail too), Karl Lagerfeld, the fashion house's creative director, pulled an awesome stunt for his finale dress. Parading down the runway in a breathtaking crepe de Chine bridal gown, Lagerfeld himself in tow, was a glowing pregnant model!
We give ourselves a huge pat on the back when our maternity wear consists of something other than leggings, but this — this takes maternity chic to a new level. Leave it to Chanel to make seven months pregnant the new "it" look (although we're not sure that we're going to be walking around in a floor-length bridal gown until delivery — but that's just us).
The entire Chanel show was full of dramatic and romantic silhouettes, but the finale dress was really a show-stopper. The model, mom-to-be Ashleigh Good looked fantastic, and we also commend Chanel for showcasing a true "modern bride."
Do you love this couture gown? Or is it too much?
