There's nothing like a gorgeous celebrity with a trainer giving weight loss tips — but in this case, Halle Berry is the only one doing the work. The actress, who gave birth to her son Maceo five months ago, told Extra about her post-pregnancy weight loss regimen.
"Every mother should breastfeed," Halle said. "It's the quickest way to shed the initial weight, and then you have to eat right."
While losing weight from breastfeeding (and breastfeeding in general) doesn't work for every mom, shedding pounds can often be an added bonus of breastfeeding — but the main reason to breastfeed is for your baby's health.
Don't pressure yourself to lose weight right away, since the first six weeks after birth are a transitional period for your body. What you can do to ditch the pregnancy pounds is to eat smaller, more frequent mini-meals — think six small meals a day — since waiting too long to eat between meals affects hormones that affect your milk supply.
You can also make healthy substitutions for carbs, like sweet potatoes or brown rice, and slowly work exercise in to your routine six to eight weeks after giving birth.
Do you agree with Halle? Have you lost weight from breastfeeding?
