The Secret To A Smiley Baby? Music
Music keeps babies happy, according to a new study in the journal, Development Science. Researchers put parents and babies into two groups of weekly music classes for six months: one where they played with instruments and learned songs, the other where they played at toy stations with Baby Einstein recordings. Experts found that babies who were in the interactive music group had an earlier sensitivity to pitch and they showed an increase in brain activity while listening to music. They also showed early communication skills. The infants who were in the interactive music group were also less fussy, laughed and smiled more and were easier to calm down.
So next time your baby gets fussy, you might want to think about enrolling in a music class!
