Beauty Expert: Debra Rubin-Roberts
Expert Bio
Debra Rubin-Roberts is an award-winning makeup artist and New York City mom with more than 15 years experience as a professional makeup artist. She has worked with the best in the cosmetic industry, including Bobbi Brown, Prescriptives (where she was awarded Prescriptives “Analyst of the Year”) and Estee Lauder. She created Mommy Makeup product kits that cut application time in half, helping mom’s simplify their makeup process and look and feel their best in no time at all.
She had her "light bulb moment" about a new makeup line almost immediately after giving birth. She realized she no longer had time to apply 13 individual items just to get a basic polished look. And unscrewing and screwing caps of product after product was eating up valuable time. She needed makeup that was quick and easy to apply — and if she needed it, surely other moms did too! After 2 and a half years of development those 13 products became 6 and her brainstorm became a reality, MOMMY MAKEUP … for Chic Moms on-the go.
Rubin-Roberts’ work has been featured on CBS “Sunday Morning” and “60 Minutes,” and she has appeared on the E! Entertainment Network and "The Maury Povich Show." In addition to being the founder of Mommy Makeup, Debra is still a working makeup artist as well, but her most favorite thing is being Jeremy's wife and Daisy's mom!

How to Fake a Full Night’s Sleep in 5 steps
The Bump - BEAUTY Expert: Debra Rubin-Roberts
- Step 1: Hydrate. Drink plenty of water to hydrate, flush toxins and brighten skin.
- Step 2: Revitalize your eyes. Try Caswell-Massey Revitalizing Cool Cucumber Eye Pads to relieve stress and reduce puffiness. Leave them on for 10 to 15 minutes—the perfect excuse to go lie down.
- Step 3: Exfoliate. Remove dead, dry surface skin by exfoliating three times each week. Look for one with rounded beads and massage, don’t scrub. Check out Basq’s Rebalancing Facial Cleanser.
- Step 4: Moisturize. Use a brightening moisturizer like Murad’s Brightening Treatment (SPF15) or Anew Luminosity Ultra Advanced Skin Brightener (SPF15). Both contain antioxidants and sunscreen to brighten skin tone and prevent future damage.
- Step 5: Cover up. A good concealer is a must. Mommy Makeup’s Mommy’s Little Helper concealer is an eye shadow base, undereye concealer and face cover- up all-in-one product. Use it on your lids to brighten and smooth when you don’t have time to apply shadow.
If you can’t go to bed, go for bed head. A super quick way to style hair is to give it the “day-after,” slightly tousled look. Try working a small amount of Jonathan’s Dirt Texturizing Paste through hair to separate and add texture. Or, try Bumble and Bumble’s hair powder to revive unwashed hair.
