So excited to be a mom!
I'm not afraid to admit that for the most part, I'm a fairly old-fashioned person. I have career goals, but my life goal has always been to have a happy, healthy family. Currently, I am finishing my MA in History (specialising in medieval England), and I already have BAs in History and in Hospitality with minors in business administration and French. These all seem like minor accomplishments now that I'm building a little human inside! My soon-to-be husband and I got engaged 12/23/2010. Our original wedding date was set for 10/22/2011, but when I found out I was pregnant, 2/4/2011, we moved the wedding up to 5/7/2011. How'd I find out? I actually took the test just out of fun. It was supposed to be the first day of my period, and I didn't really feel like I usually did so I took a test out of curiosity. I did this all before my fiancé woke up that morning. 1 minute later, I looked over and there it was! Positive! We take showers every morning so that same morning while we were in the shower brushing our teeth I said, "What would we do about the wedding if I found out I was pregnant?" He said, "Why?" I just sort of slowly brushed my teeth (like the slow clap, ha), and his eyes got big as silver dollars! He's been head over heels excited ever since. We had our first doctor's appointment at 12 weeks. We won't be finding out the sex (which is killing both our parents), and I plan on keeping the birth as med-free as possible.
