Furbabies and Baby-babies
I'm a working mom to eight cats and a dog--and DH and I are expecting our first child! On top of that and all that goes with it (think lots and lots of vacuuming & mopping after the creatures!), we keep pretty busy voluteering and fostering for our local Humane Society--so I'll get on my soapbox talking about animal welfare--watch out! I've had to scale back my activities a bit for obvious reasons, but I'm looking forward to using my 'me' time (aka lunch break!) for volunteering once I can get around a little better again. Family is most important to me, and I wish I could be a SAHM, but my career is important too--I know I'm not the only one out there divided on that front. I'm trying to be a green mommy, or at least be an informed consumer and make the best choices possible for what our LO will be exposed to, eating, diapered with, etc. Did I mention my background is in biochemistry? That might give my docs headaches, but I think it's easier on them in the end because I already get what's going on in there. In other words, my interests are all over the map!
