Title
I'm Charly and I'm 25 years old. My husband, Steve, and I have two dogs; a Pomeranian and a Puggle. We started trying for a baby in September 2011. We are hoping for a girl so, for about a year, we studied up! I learned about the Shettles Method, started tracking my temperature and cervical mucus, and went by the Chinese calendar. We picked out a girl name and a boy name. After our first try, I didn't get my period for at least a month. I took numerous home pregnancy tests and eventually got a blood test. All negative. I never met with a nurse or a doctor but that didn't stop the nurse from calling me up and telling me she thinks I'm infertile! Again, we tried ONCE. She gave me the whole spiel about "your cycle is 28 days long and you ovulate on day 14", as if we went into this blindly with no research. A friend recommended the ovulation microscope and that was THE best thing I ever tried. We tried again at the beginning of December. I ovulated on day 23! So to all the women out there with not-so-normal cycles, there is hope! I took a dance class one night and I knew something was off. My nipples were like knives! The next morning, the Thursday before Christmas, I took a pregnancy test and it was POSITIVE!! We surprised out families on Christmas. We stuffed a picture of the positive test in a card. So far, everything is normal. I changed doctors completely so I didn't have to deal with that stupid nurse and I absolutely love my doctor. We still want a girl but, honestly, we just don’t care! We are just thrilled to be pregnant. To anyone who may read this, any and all suggestions are appreciated!!
