A family is a haven in a heartless world.
My husband and I met through work, and it so unexpectedly turned into more than either of us ever planned or even dreamed of. But when I found my soul mate, I found someone else, as well. My stepdaughter was just a little thing when I met her, and I have so enjoyed being here for her to grow and torn into the prissy, mischievous girl she is now. She has a character that never fails to surprise me, and she has taught me so much. In December of 2009, we welcomed our son into the world, and I now know a love stronger than anything I ever could have imagined in my most vivid dreams. Every day I learn something new as he discovers the world and grows and changes before my eyes. It's hard to believe that the little boy running away from me at bed time is a part of me in the truest sense. And on June 27, 2010, my husband and I finally tied the knot, bringing our family together forever. We may not have the easiest road to travel or much to call our own, but we do have a happy family and a lot of love to give.
