6 weeks and counting...
After a whirlwind Fall/Winter of raging hormones, a period that lasted more than a month and lots, and I mean lots of stress---we are pregnant! We can't wait to meet this baby. I suspect that I'm about 6 or 7 weeks along and the nausea is raging, but its all for a good cause.

Baby Bump Traditions
After a few years of being strapped down by our wallets' deciding what we can and cannot do, my husband and I have pretty much had enough. With secure jobs and bank accounts comes a relaxed feeling about spending that simply wasn't there before. For that reason, we have decided to go out for Date Night every Friday--no matter what! We have been practicing this ritual for nine months now, and I can definitely say that it has become an event that we both look forward to. And oh yeah... no work talk allowed.
Date Night is not particularly fancy... to say the truth, by Friday night we're both exhausted. But we still go out and we take in the opportunity to share a meal and talk about us and what we hope to accomplish in the short and long term. Sometimes, for added excitement we add in a movie or a trip to the mall to purchase something we want for the apartment. I know.. it sounds pretty pathetic...but that's our ideal of Date Night. We're not into anything crazy and more importantly, we just want to relax with each other after a long week.
After finding out that I was pregnant, we have added a new dimension to our date night...buying something for the baby. I know its early, and while everyone tells me its too soon to begin purchasing baby items, I have to admit that it really does get us excited about the months ahead. Soo.. the plan is always have dinner, stroll in somewhere and get one item for baby. Sometimes we wind up getting two or three things, but that is really our limit.

Date Night Purchase
While this little peanut will be our first baby...he/she is by no means out FIRST baby. Because hubby and I have both gone out with our niece Samantha, the diaper bag situation is one that we are all too familiar with. Normally, these bags seem to be more impractical then practical. Nothing is ever found when it is needed, and then there is always the discomfort of lugging a heavy (and they do get
HEAVY) bag on one shoulder. So when we stumbled onto the Fisher Price Deluxe on the go Diaper Backpack, we didn't think twice to get it.
Pros:
1. Black=Unisex=hubby can carry it shamelessly. 2. Comfortable backpack design for long outings. 3. Accessible wipes case on the side. 4. Insulated pockets for bottles. 5. Changer included. 6. Accessible pacifier pocket. and 7. Quite Roomy with lots of pockets for easy storage.
