I can't even begin to express how excited we are to finally be parents. Since we got married a year and a half ago I have had baby fever, but held it at bay for this long. Now we will be welcoming the most amazing blessing into the world in March of 2012. I can't wait to meet our baby, but in the meantime I will enjoy every minute of my pregnancy!
First time parents, we are learning new things about our baby and each other every day. I bet my husband didn't realize I would be such a nutcase while pregnant. I never thought that I would experience some of these crazy mood swings and ridiculous food issues. I have always loved all foods, and now I eat like a picky child. I hate that I'm not eating normally and I just can't wait until I start having cravings!!! Get ready to run to the store at strange hours hubby! lol We can't wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl, and it's only 6 weeks until we get the answer. All I want is to know so I can start decorating and buying baby gear...OMG this kid is going to be so spoiled lol.
Both my husband and I have been waiting for the moment when the doctor could finally tell us weather we were having a Boy or a Girl, and have had a strong feeling that this little one would turn out to be a Boy. Now it's official, we are going to be welcoming our first son into the world in mid March 2012! We are both so excited, and I have to admit that on our way home from the doctor, I made sure to stop at Babies R' Us and pick up a few little Boy outfits. I couldn't help myself!!! Now we get to start decorating the nursery and that will be fun! Deciding on a name happened very quickly too! Although we may choose a couple of other names just in case our little man doesn't look like an Emmanuel Lamont Taylor ;)
Our son decided that he was ready to meet the world a bit sooner than expected. Today he is 2 weeks old, and we couldn't be happier that he is here! We went in to have a routine External Version procedure, only to realize that I was already in full active labor. I guess my pain tolerance is higher than I realized! Unfortunately, our son Lamont Emmanuel Taylor, Jr. (aka LJ) wasn't tolerating my contractions. He had wrapped the cord around his neck a couple times loosly, and was squeezing the cord with his little hand with every contraction. Because of that his heart rate decelerated a couple of times for 4-6 min, so I was rushed into the OR for an emergency C-section. My husband almost didn't make it back in time to see our son born, but luckily he was there just in time to be there for the entire thing! Our handsome boy was born at 2:30pm on 2/23/12, 2.5 weeks earlier than expected. We are so excited he is here and loving watching him grow and change every day!
