Jessica + Tony = Twins

Hello! I don't even know where to start with my story?! I met Tony about 4 1/2 years ago! The first night we met - we hit it off and have been together ever since! He claims (I don't know if I believe him or not) that when he saw me for the first time he told his friend, "I'm going to marry that girl someday!" After that night we would talk on the phone every night for 3 hours until we went on our first date - still talking every night! After about three months of dating - we moved to Wisconsin together and rented a condo! We stayed there for a year and than he went back to Wisconsin and I went back to Iowa - doing the long distance thing! We did a lot of traveling and I always was waiting for the moment I would get a ring! Maybe our trip to Cancun or maybe our two week road trip across the United States on Route 66? Than the summer of 2009 he did it when I least expected it! We had took my little brother school shopping all day and go karting - ending the night with just him and I watching the movie "I Love You Man!" A part came on where the best friend asked the groom-to-be why he was marrying his soon-to-be wife and the guy could not answer the question! I told Tony, "If someone asked me why I love you, I wouldn't even stop to think and I would name hundreds of reasons why!" So he paused the movie... He told me to name the reasons why I loved him and I started listing them. When I was done I asked him why he loved me and so he started to list his reasons! Than I saw him reach for his pocket and I slapped his hand and said, "TONY! DO NOT PRETEND YOU HAVE A RING AND ARE GOING TO PROPOSE TO ME!" That is when he said, "But what if I do have a ring" and he pulled out the ring box! I was so excited I started crying and I was kept saying things like, "Are you serious!?!", "Stop joking around!" He finally had to ask me, "Well, are you going to answer the question?" AND I SAID "YES"!!!! A year later we were married in Iowa with a big wedding with lots of family and friends! We had 12 attendants on each side, 5 usherettes/ushers, two flower girls, a ring bearer and a personal attendant! Our wedding was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for a better day to marry my best friend (besides it was a 100 degrees out and in my big wedding dress I was sweating the whole day)! We left for Jamaica right after our wedding and went to Sunset at the Palms in Negril! It was a quiet, nice resort and since it was the off season there wasn't a lot of people there so it felt like we were all alone! We stayed in tree top huts and spent most of our time at the beach! It was truly amazing and the best trip we've had yet! Than a month after our wedding we bought a house and moved in! We did a lot of painting and remodeling right away and are still working on that! It was nice to finally be together and have our own place to call home! A few months prior I had been told by doctors I had Endometriosis and would probably struggle to get pregnant! We decided we would go off birth control and if it happened, it happened but neither of us would get our hopes up! In November I started to feel like I had got food poisoning or the flu! I felt sick all day, every day! I finally started to think something was up when I was working my regular night shift at a Chinese restaurant I have been working at since I was 16 (I just turned 26 this past October) and I LOVE their food! Well, every time I work I get a free meal... That night I couldn't pick one because everything sounded disgusting! That was unusual for me and on the way home I had to stick my head out of the window because the smell of it made me want to vomit! I had started to not like meat or really anything - I hated food! In the mornings I had to force myself out of bed because I felt like I was dying... I told Tony that maybe I was pregnant and he said he didn't think I was since we didn't really think I could be. We were thinking that it would be 2 years down the road and I still wouldn't be able to get pregnant! Well, that night I went to our local general store to buy a pregnancy test! I felt like a 16 year old girl who was going to get in trouble even though I was a married woman! At this store you have to ask for the pregnancy test at the counter so I waited until everyone I knew was in the back of the store (I am from a small town and everyone knows everyone so if anyone saw me - It would be the talk of the town and everyone would think I was pregnant even though I didn't think I could be)! Just my luck - They were out! The older woman grabbed her walkie talkie and said, "TERI! ARE WE OUT OF THE PREGNANCY TESTS? THERE IS A YOUNG LADY UP HERE LOOKING FOR THEM!?" The next day I went to work and the only thing I could think of is - I AM PREGNANT! I went to another local store in our town and grabbed the cheapest box of pregnancy tests (2 in a box) and got in line! Of course the lady in front of me had a cart full of stuff and was chatting it up with the cashier! I started to sweat so bad I had to take the layers off I was wearing! After I paid I went to go to my house to take the test (I was on a break from work)! That day my husband had forgot his keys so had to take mine and I didn't have a house key so I wasn't able to take the test there! At first there was only one line so I thought I wasn't pregnant but decided I better wait the full 3 minutes! 3 minutes later I looked down and saw the two lines! OH MY GOD! I couldn't believe it! I sent a text of the photo of the test to my husband and said, "You're going to be a daddy!" He thought I was joking and got the photo off the internet! So that night I had to take another test to show him and he still didn't think it was true! He said I bought the cheapest brands and they were probably wrong so not to get my hopes up! The next day I went to the doctor to confirm it! It was positive! They suggested I have an ultrasound 3 days later since I had Endometriosis so bad - They wanted to make sure I didn't have a Fallopian Tube Pregnancy! My husband didn't go with me because he had started a new job and we didn't think it was anything for him to miss work for! My friends that had previously been pregnant told me you can't see anything that early and he wouldn't be missing out on anything! I went alone and the doctor informed me before I even laid down that we probably wouldn't be able to see anything since it was so early! As soon as he laid it on my stomach - And he didn't even have to move the wand around - He said, "Oh I see both of their heartbeats!" I was like, "What are you talking about?" as I looked at the screen confused since it was my first pregnancy and I had never had an ultra sound! He said, "Your twins!" I was in shock and kept asking, "I hope you are joking!?!" He said no - That he took his job very seriously! Most women I talk to dream of having twins but I was the one that didn't want twins! The ultra sound took 1 1/2 hours because I ended up having to have a pelvic one to measure them! I was about 5 weeks along! I found out twins come from the woman's family! I practically ran out of the hospital! At least my husband was really excited because it took me about a month to get over the shock! When I called and told him he was the most excited I had ever heard him! Jumping up and down saying, "YES! YES! YES!" Now I am finally over the shock and more excited than ever - I know I have good support from family and friends! We'll just have twice the love! I should be thankful that I even got pregnant because the doctors told me to be prepared for a hard struggle to get pregnant! Well, they were wrong because I got pregnant 1 month after my husband and I got married! The first two months about I was so sick! I would feel nauseated all day, every day! I could hardly move and I didn't want to do anything but sleep! I didn't like meat and I stopped liking all my favorite foods! Now I'm starting to feel great and like I'm not even pregnant! The only problem I've been having is a sciatic nerve pain that runs through my left upper leg, butt and lower back! Sometimes I feel like my left side of my body is paralyzed and I can't move! When laying in bed I can't even lift my leg sometimes or get out of bed! I am going to try massages for that! Also, I have noticed my stomach is growing larger and faster than other pregnant women at the same stage as me! I am excited to meet my little babes and this next appointment on Jan. 7 my husband is coming with me to hear their heartbeats! In Feb. we will get to see their next ultra sound! Today is our 4 month anniversary since we got married and today is also the 3 month mark of my pregnancy! I am so happy! :) Jessica Elizabeth 12-21-10
