Michael and I met about a month after I moved to Austin. We started dating May 29, 2010 and have been together ever since! He proposed to me on Valentine's Day 2011 and we decided to get married once we moved to Pennsylvania March 2011. He is the love of my life and I am so thankful to have met such an awesome man; my best friend.
My husband and I just had our first child together. Arianna Catherine Marie was born May 26, 2011. I was admitted to the hospital around 1:30am the day she was born and they decided to induce me because labor was imminent because I had been having painless contractions over the past 24 hours. I was taken to my labor and delivery room and they started Pitocin and broke my water after a while. I had them give me an epidural and then we just waited. I ended up feeling everything on my whole left side because the epidural wasn't working on that side. About 12 hours into my labor, they re-administered the epidural and also injected a small spinal dose to expedite the effects. I was at 5 centimeters before the second epidural and twenty minutes later, they checked me and I was at 10 centimeters! I was about to start pushing and they checked to see how the baby was positioned and realized...she's breech! Both Michael and I were in total shock. Michael called my family and his family to let them know that I was being wheeled to the OR for an emergency c-section. Since the baby wasn't in the optimal position, the contractions were causing her heart rate to drop significantly. It was very dangerous for her to be at that level so they ended up cutting me and getting her out before Michael even had a chance to get into the room with me. She was out in a matter of minutes and before I knew it, Michael was holding her and showing me her precious little face. We had a LOT of unexpected events happen but in the end, our little girl was born happy, healthy and we are so excited to be new parents. We are so blessed!!! She has her two grandma's names as her middle names. Catherine is my Mom and Marie is Michael's mom. Arianna Catherine Marie May 26, 2011 7 pounds, 19" long
