Tawnya S. First time Mom-to-be
Hello! My name is Tawnya Sweeney. I am a 29 years old military dependent spouse. My husband, John, and I have been married for nearly eight years and are expecting our first baby October 10thish. We tried for a couple of years in the beginning of our marriage to conceive, including three IUIs, but never had any luck. We continued to "try" for a couple of more years but still were unsuccessful. We had finally given up on the idea, moved on with our lives pursuing degrees for different careers, and decided after nearly eight years of marriage that we were very happy with the way our lives were and better off without kids; we even began discussing my husband getting a vasectomy to prevent any oopsies, and then I found out I was six weeks pregnant!!! It came as quite the surprising miracle!!! Needless to say we were shocked, in denial, uncertain of our wants, etc., but now that it is becoming more and more real...we couldn't be more thrilled and are anticipating the long awaited arrival of our blessed baby!!! I am currently working towards my Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Between lessening my class load and taking a semester off when the baby arrives, I anticipate graduating around October 2012, just in time for the baby's 1st birthday! We just recently relocated to the US in Alamogordo, NM after living in England for nearly three years; therefore, I am a "lady of leisure" which is fancy shmancy for "housewife", and I now intend on staying that way for the next few years now that there is a baby on the way. I am originally from Bedford, MA, so I am very much looking forward to returning to the east coast ASAP to be closer to family. Plus, my husband and I are avid Red Sox and Patriots fans and are missing the sporting events like crazy!!!
