Newborns tend to go through at least six diaper changes a day, which means there’s no warming up to diaper duty—you’ll be diving right in to this messy task. Sure, thousands of changes over the years will eventually refine your technique (holding a squirming baby with one hand while slathering on ointment with the other isn’t exactly a rookie move). But mastering your diaper-changing knowledge before baby’s arrival will help make this new responsibility a bit less daunting—and maybe even help you feel better prepared for that inevitable first blowout. Okay, nothing can really prepare you for that, but watching this video will at least teach you the basic do’s and don’ts. (Our tip: Share it with your partner too!)

Shop the video: Use Aquaphor Baby Healing Ointment at each change to help prevent diaper rash, but if a rash does pop up (hey, it happens!) treat with Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream.
