This 5-Month-Old Has Already Been to All 50 States in the US

“Our purpose and our goal was for us to learn to navigate the togetherness of parenting, to appreciate each other’s strengths and to see if we could really pull it off.”

Evelyn Rose has seen and experienced more in a three-month span than most of us will in an entire lifetime. The baby girl has been on the road since she was two months old, accompanied by her parents, Ryan and Jenna Woods, in their souped up RV. The family of three has been sharing Evelyn’s journey online, and as of this week, the 5-month-old can officially say—once she starts speaking, that is—that she’s been to all 50 states in the US.

Ryan and Jenna are high school sweethearts who have been together for 17 years and counting. When they added Evelyn Rose to their clan, they were determined to keep their adventurous spirit alive. “We left our high-rise apartment overlooking the city for a RV, and we set our sights high to give us the necessary motivation to make the trip happen,” they explain on their website. “Evelyn was born January 26, 2019, and we left on our journey when she was just two months old!”

At four months and 26 days, the baby girl checked off the final destination on her list: Alaska. Needless to say, her parents had all the feels as they touched down in Anchorage.

“This trip has taught us that life isn’t meant to be easy, it’s meant to be lived. The truth is that this whole adventure wasn’t for Evelyn; we are very aware she won’t remember. But boy, do we have some fun family videos for her to relive with us when she’s older. Making memories together is the best gift we could imagine giving her when she’s old enough to understand,” the parents write on Instagram. “Our purpose and our goal was for us to learn to navigate the togetherness of parenting, to appreciate each other’s strengths and to see if we could really pull it off. We wanted to experience every milestone with each other and embrace this opportunity of a lifetime. A silly timeline, a verified record…It was meaningless to us. It was just something that pushed us to finish and a way to have some wholesome fun.⁣” ⁣

Aussie couple Cindy Lim and Tristan Yeats took on a similar endeavor with their little girl, Harper. The couple set off on a mission to hit every state in the US before their daughter turned one. Spoiler alert—they also crossed the finish line.
