Hilarious DIY Baby Carrier Keeps Baby Closer Than Ever
Laugh all you want; this girl is the babysitter of the year.
In an effort to keep her eyes on her 2-month-old cousin at all times, 15-year-old J’Ann Sorhaindo created a makeshift baby carrier to free up her hands while she made a sandwich. Like any dutiful sibling, J’Ann’s younger sister snapped a photo. They then sent it off to the baby’s mother, their aunt, Claudia Sorhaindo.
Sorhaindo loved it. She immediately took to Facebook.
“Lord send help; this was her solution. Creativity at it’s finest,” she writes in the caption, expressing her tears of laughter via emoji.
J’Ann knows how important it is to be attentive to Ava. TODAY reports that while living in St. Croix in 2011, Sorhaindo lost her 3-month-old baby because of a hospital medication mix-up.
“J’Ann knows how protective I am with Ava,” Sorhaindo tells TODAY. “Some might say I’m a little paranoid. I’m always checking to see if she’s breathing, so J’Ann showed me she is making sure she is keeping her eyes on Ava.”
She adds that her family has played a huge role in helping her move forward after her loss.
“They have helped me so much—if it weren’t for my friends and family I might have gone crazy,” Sorhaindo says. “Doctors offered me depression medication and I refused it because having a family like mine—I won’t have the chance to ever get depressed.”
Understood. The parenting hacks her family shows her along the way? Just an added perk.
