Seeing your sonogram for the first time is an incredible moment for moms-to-be. But what about if you can’t see at all?
Tatiana Guerra, 30, has been blind since age 17. At 20 weeks pregnant, she went in for an ultrasound, and her doctor asked her to describe what she thought her baby boy looked like.
“Oh, I imagine him…well…his nose looks like a little potato,” she says. “A small mouth…a chubby little hand.”
But Guerra got to do more than just speculate. Fifteen minutes later, her doctor surprised her with a 3D printed ultrasounds, allowing her to feel her way through the contours of baby Murilo’s face.
“I am your son,” the image reads in braille at the top.
