These 10 Cars Are the Best for Car Seat Installation
To the parents agonizing over car seat installation: It’s not you. Nearly three out of every four car seats are installed incorrectly, and in some cases, the design of your car is to blame. In an effort to call out cars who actually make this job easier, Cars.com has released its annual Car Seat Check Honor Roll. This year, only 10 vehicles make the list.
What does it take for a car to make the grade? It needs to be a 2017 or 2018 model that earned an ‘A’ in each Cars.com Car Seat Check category within the last year. At every Car Seat Check, certified child passenger safety technicians looks into whether or not a car’s LATCH system actually makes seat installation easier, and how well a car can accommodate an infant car seat, rear-facing convertible, forward-facing convertible and booster. Third row car seat access is also a consideration.
In total, 65 vehicles were tested. The 10 that clinched spots on the Honor Roll all have LATCH systems that are up to snuff and plenty of room for at least two car seats.
