Babies and the Spice Girls aren’t usually associated with Milan runways, but Dolce & Gabbana is breaking the mold.

D&G unveiled their fall/winter 2015 collection yesterday, the theme of which is “The Mother.” Three models carried their children down the runway, pieces were inspired by children’s artwork and model Bianca Balti strutted her bump — all to the tune of “Mama” by the Spice Girls.

Show notes indicate inspiration for the line came from Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s relationships with their own mothers. “The inherent message,” the notes say, “is allowing fashion to be seen as an extension of where one comes from.” They presented several pieces embroidered with the word “mama,” kid-friendly doodles, the Madonna and Child, and lots of roses.

We love maternity fashion, and are excited to see some high-end maternity-themed fashion. What do you think of these pieces? See the whole collection here.
