Dr. Brown's Is Recalling Half a Million Lovey Pacifier & Teether Holders
A lovey—any comfort object for your baby or toddler—is a great soothing tool to combine with a pacifier or teether. Many lovies are designed with a clip or snap to do exactly that, like the Dr. Brown’s Lovey. But the company is voluntarily recalling them in light of a safety hazard.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the snap can detach from the lovey’s ribbon, posing a choking hazard. While 67 incidents of the ribbon fraying and the snap detaching have been reported, there haven’t been any injuries.
Just about 590,000 lovies are affected. This include eight styles: giraffe, zebra, turtle, reindeer, frog, spring bunny, deer and bunny. If you think you may have one, double check the code on the tag. It could be any of the following:
