5 Ways to Show Off Your Bump Like Lauren Conrad
When Lauren Conrad debuted her baby bump earlier this week, it was just as cute and perfect as we expected. Her look was also decidedly simple. And that got us thinking—can we find out how to dress a bump like LC?
We turned to global brand consultant Eleni Koureas , who works with maternity labels from Envie de Fraise to Hotmilk Lingerie for tips on dressing up and showing off your new figure. Her overarching message: Don’t be afraid. You can be fashion-forward and comfortable at the same time.
1. Lighten up
“Pregnant women have such a beautiful glow and often choose dark colors for an evening out,” Koureas says. “Instead, opt for vivid colors or this season’s floral prints. At the Golden Globes, Natalie Portman wore daffodil yellow and outshined most of the celebrities there. Don’t be afraid to show off your new curves in color! Vogue also lists fuchsia as one of the top 10 trends of spring/summer 2017!”
2. Keep it tight
“Bodycon continues to be on trend. You can steal Natalie Portman’s style with this dress from Envie de Fraise.”
3. Embrace the stripes
“Horizontal stripes are so flattering for pregnancy and are often found in super comfortable, throw-on easy styles,” Koureas says. “For colder days, try adding a denim shirt on top and knotting the front like this GeBe dress and shirt combo, launching soon with Asos.”
4. Rock a onesie
“Don’t be afraid to try a maternity jumpsuit; they’re comfortable, stylish and often come in styles that work well for nursing too. Try this one from Envie de Fraise.”
5. Show some skin
“Cold-shoulder—or off-the-shoulder—tops are still key for spring summer 2017,” Koureas says, recommending a top from Ripe Maternity. “Don’t worry; it is possible to find a seamless, strapless maternity bra that won’t dig in."
