Eva Amurri Martino Stayed in Bed for a Week After Giving Birth: Did You?
Eva Amurri Martino is one proud mama after welcoming daughter Marlowe Mae with husband Kyle Martino on August 9. In an interview with People, the first-time mom discloses that even though she didn’t have any breastfeeding issues with Marlowe — aside from her eating too fast — it was challenging at first.
“I don’t care what people say and no matter what, it hurts,” Eva states. “It’s not comfortable. It has been teaching me to really be much more gentle with myself and I just have to expect that each day is a new day and it takes a while to get used to. The first week was really intense. I was not expecting how hard it was.”
Susan Sarandon’s daughter also says that her midwife suggested she take time to recover in bed for a week and a half after giving birth.
“I didn’t leave my bedroom, let alone go downstairs. My mom would bring stuff up for me to eat and I really just stayed in bed with Marlowe nursing,” she says.
What about you, Bumpies? Did you take time to recover in bed after birth? Was it important to you?
