Why Jersey Shore's Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley Hates The Beach as a Mom
After years of making the Jersey Shore her stomping grounds, Jenni “Jwoww” Farley is done with the beach.
In a conversation with Kylie Kelce on her unfiltered podcast Not Gonna Lie, the Jersey Shore alum and mom of two, Meilani (10) and Greyson (8), shared her parenting hot take: “I’m Jenni Jwoww and I hate the beach,” she said with a laugh. “Now that I have kids, now that we’re lugging everything, and then they get their sweaty, beachy, sand-filled stuff in the back of my vehicle, I’ve become that Karen where I hate the beach.”
The sentiment is one many parents—and Kelce—can relate to. “Having our kids come back from the beach head-to-toe covered in sand, I get it,” Kelce said in response. “We will take them down to the water and rinse them off, and then by the time we get to the ramp to get off the beach, I turn around and our second one is like, in her hair again, and I’m like, ‘How did that even happen between there and here?’”
“My fiancé’s car—once you get sand in it, it never goes away, and every time I open the trunk for groceries, I see sand just popping everywhere, and I just hate the beach as a mom,” Farley added. “That’s fair, very fair,” Kelce said.
In the comments, parents shared their similar struggles and relatable disdain for the whole endeavor. “Sand is the glitter of parenthood—I stand on this,” joked one parent. “Why is there sand everywhere with kids? Sand in sunscreen makes me want to die. Not to be dramatic,” added another. “Also, can moms RELAX when they’re on the beach with kids? Like, you have to make sure they’re not drowning or getting buried to death in the sand or sunburned to shit. I wanna be napping, eating, and reading. Moms at the beach are a whole new bonus level,” one parent shared.
Several parents also chimed in with their advice for keeping the sand situation to a minimum. “Baby powder! I keep a bottle of baby powder in my car and dust them down with it. It absorbs the moisture and the sand sloughs right off. As a CA beach mom, baby powder is a must!” wrote one parent. “I’ve also seen taking an old laundry detergent bottle filled with water to your car to rinse off,” added another.
