Four months after the birth of daughter Alijah Mary, Kendra Wilkinson Baskett is shedding the baby weight — all 55 pounds of it. But she tells E! that finding the right diet and exercise regimen took work.
“I’m an athlete, I thought I would lose the weight so fast right after having the baby, but I didn’t,” she says of her first pregnancy with son Hank Jr. “I learned the pounds don’t just shed off. You have to go on a diet and really take care of your body.”
This time around, Wilkinson Baskett stuck with the Atkins diet. “I love meat, I love vegetables, it’s low-carb…it’s working so good,” she tells Giuliana Rancic.
The Kendra on Top star began her pregnancy at 120 lbs. and reached 175 lbs. (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends women gain 25 to 35 pounds throughout pregnancy — but there’s no magic number.)
Wilkinson Baskett says she’s not done dropping the pounds yet, though. “I’m back in my jeans but I’m not at my goal yet. I still have a little bit of work to do.”
As for her workout routine? She regularly hits the weights, runs on the treadmill and walks around the neighborhood.
