Mexico Bans These Outrageous Baby Names: See The List!

Thinking about naming your baby Facebook? Uh, well, sorry, mom. Mexican officials in Sonora, which boarders the US state of Arizona, have banned 61 baby names in an effort to keep incredibly “unique” monikers out of schools (to prevent bullying).

The law, which went into effect on Monday, is all part of Sonora state Civil Registry director Cristina Ramirez’s effort to crack down on names that might cause kids problems later in life. “The law,” she says, “is very clear because it prohibits giving children names that are derogatory or that don’t have any meaning and that can lead to bullying.” And this is only the beginning. Ramirez says that the list will grow in the future as officials discover more and more questionable names.
