Nothing was going to foil this midwife’s plan to be by her patient’s side during labor. Carrie Hall was at the hair salon when she got the call that the baby was on the way. Minutes later, she was in the delivery room, foils still on.

“First time for everything! Thought I’d share,” she wrote in a post to her alma mater, Frontier Nursing University. “I was at the salon and nature called!”

Hall explained that she arrived just in time for the expectant mom to deliver the baby. About 20 minutes later, she was back at the salon—a relief for the dozens of Facebook commenters worried about the state of her hair.

“Am I the only one that wants an update on the condition Of her hair?” one user asked.

“Momma, baby and my hair are great!” Hall replied in an interview with Café Mom. Wondering if it’s safe for a newborn to be this close to hair dye? While this baby wasn’t in contact with Hall for much time at all, we know that it is safe to color your hair during pregnancy as long as you stay in a well-ventillated area.
