When it comes to holiday parties, pregnancy can throw even the most experienced fashionista for a loop. Fear not, moms-to-be, I’ve got you covered. Below are a few of my tips and tricks for looking and feeling fabulous this holiday season.
Lady in red
Don’t be afraid to wear bold colors. Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to employ the wearing-all-black tactic; you should celebrate your burgeoning bump! When dressing bold, keep your makeup simple with a pop of color on the lip. That lip color will help your brighten your face and your overall look, especially during the winter months when we tend to look pale.
Flaunt your assets
Embrace your best features. Showing a little leg is definitely a good thing. Try a body lotion with a little shimmer. Products like Prtty Peaushun are great for making your body glow in all the right ways.
The LBD
From casual occasions to fancy fetes, the little black dress will always come to your rescue. The tighter the better! Layer your dress with a boyfriend jacket, tuxedo jacket or cardigan. A little trick: as your belly grows, you should dress more fitted. Don’t follow your inclination to dress bigger; it will make you look much bigger.
Embrace a little sparkle
Holiday fashion begs for some bling. Pair a solid bottom with a sparkly top. I love a leather or matte legging to go with my glitzy tops. Turn your LBD up a notch with a sequined jacket or cardigan.
Undergarments are your allies
Maternity shapewear is your friend. Let your undergarments be the supporting cast of your best holiday looks.
Faux cocktail fun
Just because you can’t indulge in the spiked eggnog doesn’t mean you have to be sentenced to beverage boredom. There are plenty of chic mocktails and products like Mommy Mixers that can help boost your holiday spirit. Add a few mint leaves and a sprinkle of pomegranate seeds to sparkling or plain water for a festive-looking drink.
