Our Top 5 Favorites From the New York Baby Show

PUBLISHED ON 05/18/2015

It's the largest show for new and expectant parents in the country, and we definitely weren't going to miss it. We spent our weekend scoping out the annual New York Baby Show , and as always, were so impressed with the latest and greatest gear. Don't let the 150+ exhibitors overwhelm you; we've narrowed it down to five products you won't want to pass up.

Bity Bean

Gearing up for a summer of travel? Don't let your carrier slow you down. This lightweight option (8 oz.) folds into a compact tote about the size of a children's sippy cup. It's even waterproof, so don't be afraid to take baby for a dip. And you're not losing any versatility; you can wear it as a front- or rear-facing carrier, and it's safe for babies eight to 40 pounds.

Love To Dream Swaddle UP

Take the guesswork out of swaddling — just zip baby into this Australian sleep system, which recently debuted in the US. Admittedly, it looks kind of constricting. But by keeping baby's arms up and his legs splayed, it facilitates a natural sleeping position. At the same time, baby can still move his arms and touch his face: behaviors important for self-soothing.

GB Qbit Stroller

Toss it in an overhead compartment, fit it easily in your backseat or sling it over your shoulder; weighing in at under 15 pounds and folding into an integrated shopping bag-sized tote, this might be the ultimate travel stroller.

$180, Available in July

Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair

It might be 43 years old, but the Tripp Trapp is still an ergonomic innovation. What starts as a standard infant high chair (five-point harness included) can be adjusted to a toddler booster seat; just adjust the footplate and seat positioning and slide it up to the kitchen table. And you can use it for years to come; this transitions to a regular chair, accommodating up to 300 pounds. Good luck choosing from the nine fun colors.

Peg-Perego Bassinet Pop-Up (and Stroller)

The first of its kind, this bassinet stroller attachment folds down flat for easy storage. Use it as a separate carrier or as part of a pram-style stroller; regardless, it will be out of your way when not in use. This stroller system also includes a Seat Pop-Up portion for older infants and toddlers.
