Over 3 Million Kids' Plates and Bowls Recalled

Reports of choking prompted this voluntary recall.

Playtex is issuing a voluntary recall on 3.6 million plastic plates and bowls with printed graphics. The plastic over the graphics, which include cars, construction scenes, giraffes, princesses, superheroes and more can bubble and peel, posing a choking hazard.

So far, there have been 372 reports of bubbling and peeling and four reports of choking.

The plates and bowls, which were available separately and as sets, were sold at retailers nationwide between Oct. 2009 and Aug. 2017:

  • Playtex Bowls 3 pack and 6 pack
  • Playtex Plates 2 pack and 4 pack
  • Playtex Toddler Mealtime Set
  • Playtex Plate Single Pack
  • Playtex Bowl Single Pack
  • Playtex DC Super Friends Bowls 3pk
  • Playtex DC Super Friends Plates 2pk
  • Playtex DC Super Friends Mealtime Set
