We've seen lots of different ways to get through labor. From dance moves to selfies, what happens in the delivery room isn't always what you'd expect. But one Georgia woman turned her hospital room into a classroom, completing an online college exam between contractions.
Tommitrise Collins, 21, says she could only take her psychology test that day. And she wanted to tackle it before she was on any medication.
"It took me four to five hours after the opening of the test to try to put the pain to the side and do it so I wouldn't have to do it later and I could enjoy my newborn," Collins, a student at Middle Georgia State University, said, adding that her plan was to handle the pain for as long as possible.
Part way through the test, her sister, Shanell Chapman, snapped a photo.
“This is what you call ‘Strong Priorities’. Contractions 3 minutes apart and still takes her Psychology Test! You are going to be a great mom baby sis!” Chapman said on Facebook.
Wondering how it all turned out? Collins delivered a healthy baby girl, Tyler Elise, after 20 hours of labor. As for the test? Piece of cake. The two-hour exam only took her an hour and half. She was ultimately granted a request to retake it, bringing her grade up to a B.
