You're probably not surprised that designer Rebecca Minkoff had an incredibly trendy and tasteful baby shower. We're talking a brunch-in-Williamsburg level of trendy. What might surprise you, however, is the running theme: Gouda.
It's not that Minkoff and her husband Gavin Ballour are cheese aficionados (well, maybe they are, but that's not the point); their 2-year-old son Luca has bestowed the baby girl, due in August, with the nickname Gouda. That meant that the purple Minted decor read "Welcome Baby Gouda," and the gift bags for guests said "I heart Gouda." (A nod to Minkoff's career-launching "I heart NY" tees, perhaps?)
The rustic Brooklyn venue, Fitzcaraldo, featured an enclosed patio space with a picnic table, string lights and plenty of plants. And vibes were chic with the elegant lavender decor and flower arrangements by Hops Petunia Floral. Props to Minkoff's trio of friends who planned the shower with some help from Rock Paper Scissors Events, and kept spirits high with a fun photo booth. And champagne and Bloody Marys.
But mostly, we're hoping they saved us some of the adorable rice krispy treats.
