The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall yesterday on the Pure Baby Organics boys’ zipper hoodie  by Chantique Corp. While no injuries have been reported, the red drawstring around the neck poses a strangulation hazard.

In 2011, the CPSC introduced a federal regulation against drawstrings in children’s upper body outerwear from sizes 2T to 12. To keep in line with that regulation, Chantique Corp. recommends either removing the drawstring from the sweatshirt, or returning the product for a full refund.

This recall affects about 60 hoodies, sold at children’s boutiques nationwide like Elephant Ears, Pumpkin Heads and Sprouts for approximately $62.

For more information, contact  Chantique’s Corp at (213) 629-3222 or [email protected].
