UPPAbaby has launched a brand new car seat.

Introducing the KNOX, a convertible car seat that’s both rear- and forward-facing and is a natural extension of the brand’s existing MESA infant car seat. Not only does the seat grow with your child, but it also includes some smart features to help make it as safe for baby as possible.

The KNOX features the brand’s SMARTSecure system, which turns from red to green to help parents know when the car seat is correctly installed. It also uses Koroyd Technology that’s integrated into its base, creating an effective crumple zone that protects the child from impact forces, as well as side impact pods for additional crash absorption. Plus, the Multi-Directional Tether reduces seat rotation and stress on baby’s head and neck in the event of impact. During testing, the brand found the tether to reduce potential injury by 45 percent. The KNOX also features a wider base for improved stability when installed, an eight-position active support headrest and four-position recline. Last, but not least, the car seat also has a two-piece fit inlay that allows for flexibility and proper fit.

The KNOX is suitable for kids ranging 14 to 25 pounds for the inlay insert; 14 to 45 pounds for rear-facing; and 25 to 65 pounds for forward-facing. The car seat also includes a removable cup holder, as well as removable and washable seat fabrics for whenever spills happen.

The car seat is available in multiple colors, starting from $350, at buybuyBABY.com.
