The best parenting hack I’ve heard through the grapevine is using the “I’ve got Santa on speed dial!” line to ensure good behavior! Best used from around July onwards for optimum results. I draw the line at the elf on the shelf though - that’s a more menacing tactic!
Avril writes descriptions for baby names at The Bump. She never realized just how many wonderful and unique names are out there! She loves researching the etymology and international origins of names and finding thoughtful and fun ways to grab a reader’s attention while searching for the perfect name.
Education
Avril studied English and Geography as part of her Bachelor of Arts Degree at college before achieving a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. She also holds a Masters in Literature and Publishing, so it’s safe to say all things writing and literature are at the forefront of her interests in life!
Experience
Before joining The Knot Worldwide and The Bump team, Avril was a high school English teacher for 10 years. Outside of work, she has published a couple of poems and recorded an EP of original music.
