Tonya Abari (she/her) is an independent journalist, author, ghostwriter, essayist and reviewer. With a wide range of interests including parenting, Black maternal health, food, travel, 35+ lifestyle, family traditions, environment, personal wellness and culture, her words have been published in local and national publications including: Essence, Nashville Scene, Yahoo! Life, Parents, Good Housekeeping, HuffPost, PBS Kids for Parents, AARP, AllRecipes, USA Today, Matador Network and many more. As a hybrid author and collaborator, Abari has published and forthcoming adult and children's titles with Mudpuppy, The Innovation Press, Wiley, HarperCollins, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers, QuartoUK and Penguin Random House. When she’s not writing or collaborating, you can find Tonya reading, crocheting earrings and frolicking in and around town with her daughters and spouse, all of whose names also begin with “T.”
