Couple Reveals Baby’s Sex at 35,000 Feet Over The North Atlantic
These days, it seems like there are a million creative spins on the classic boy or girl reveal, but one couple just took theirs to a whole new level.
Aviation enthusiasts Katrín and Anton wanted a unique and fun reveal for their first child together, and the crew at PLAY Airlines was more than happy to get in on the fun. As the couple got settled on board and the plane reached cruising altitude at 35,000 feet, the flight attendant made an announcement for the ultimate sky-high reveal. “Dear passengers, you already know you are on a flight to Paris, but this isn’t just any flight," the attendant shared over the intercom. “In fact, this might be the first time in history that someone finds out the gender of their baby somewhere over the North Atlantic.”
With the stage set, each passenger was given a pink or blue card in their seatback pocket and invited to make their guess for boy or girl. As the excitement built, the crew brought out a special cake on a cart, and with champagne glasses in hand, Katrín and Anton dug in.
After a moment of suspense, the blue icing inside the cake revealed the big surprise—it’s a boy! The plane erupted with cheers, happy tears and excitement for the soon-to-be parents. In the spirit of celebration, Katrín, Anton, and he PLAY Airlines crew thanked everyone for being part of the moment with blue cupcakes to commemorate the sweet reveal.
“We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to find out—we’re having a boy," the couple shared. "This is our first child together, and having the big reveal take place in the sky was unforgettable. With two boys and a daughter between us, our little crew is getting bigger. As aviation enthusiasts, sharing this moment at 30,000 feet with PLAY made it even more meaningful. We’re incredibly grateful to the crew for making this such a special flight we’ll never forget.”
