Sesame Street Is Launching a Podcast for Preschoolers Next Month
Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, is launching a new podcast for preschoolers—and it will be hosted by a brand new character, Foley.
The podcast, The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends, launching in partnership with Audible, is the first podcast of its kind from the kids’ show. Each episode will be 15 minutes in length and center around a different topic suitable for preschoolers, such as vehicles, birthdays, the alphabet and more. The podcase will feature new original music, interactive games, jokes told by Foley’s sidekick, Mikee the Microphone, and visits from friends in every episode, including Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster.
“Sesame Workshop has been one of the most respected names in family entertainment for over 50 years, and we’re honored to bring this unique Sesame Street podcast to listeners,” Rachel Ghiazza, Executive Vice President, Head of US Content at Audible said in a press release. “The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends delivers what parents need most now: educational entertainment that little ones will love, guaranteed.”
“As families’ media habits evolve, Sesame Workshop is ready to meet them wherever they are with engaging content that sparks playful learning. Together with Audible, we’re creating a rich audio-only world that will come to life in kids’ imaginations,” Scott Chambers, Sesame Workshop’s Senior Vice President/General Manager, Educational Media and Licensing, North America, also said in the release. “We can’t wait for our friends at home to explore the sounds of Sesame Street in a whole new way. Welcome to the neighborhood, Foley!”
The podcast, which includes 15 episodes, is available exclusively on Audible and will release on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting October 15, 2020.
