These Are the Predictions for 2020’s Most Popular Baby Names
Picking a name for baby is a big decision and can be an intimidating process. Luckily, there are plenty of resources out there that can help provide some inspiration—including naming websites. One such site, Names.org, recently released its predictions for the most popular baby names of 2020.
According to their report, Names.org has a track record of accurate predictions. While official numbers for 2019 are not available yet, in 2018 the site correctly predicted nine out of 10 boy names and 10 out of 10 girl names.
The report shows that new entries in the top 10 for boys this year includes Henry and Alexander, while Mila found its way into the top 10 for girls. Names just outside the top 10 for boys include Sebastian, which is rising in popularity. On the other hand, Mason, Ethan, Logan, Michael and Daniel are also just outside of the top 10 names for boys but are declining in popularity. For girls, Luna, Camila and Aria are just outside the top 10 and are increasing in popularity. Meanwhile, Evelyn, Abigail and Ella are also just outside the top 10 names for girls, but are decreasing in popularity.
The names were ranked according to an analysis of the most recent data from the Social Security Administration, trends from the last five years and current interest from millions of visitors to their site.
