Otteroo Corp. is recalling 3,000 of its baby floats: circular floatation devices that fit snuggly around babies’ necks and allow them to keep comfortably keep afloat in the pool or tub. While the sight of a baby’s neck wrapped in a float is alarming at first, the product — already popular in Asia — has drawn positive reviews. But 54 reports of broken seams was enough for the CPSC to issue a recall, citing a threat of deflation and drowning.

No injuries have been reported so far. If you have one of the floats, sold on Otteroo.com, Amazon and Zulily between January and July 2014 for about $35, contact Otteroo for a free replacement.

Otteroo can be reached at 415-236-5388 or online at www.otteroo.com.
