Many experts agree that a single glass of wine (or bottle of beer) sipped over the course of a meal is just fine. Alcohol does pass into your breast milk, but such a small amount taken with food shouldn’t have much of an impact on you or baby. If it makes you feel better, feed baby just before you sit down to eat, to allow a little time for the alcohol to metabolize before the next feeding.
