Janelle received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. Before transitioning to writing, she held a decade-long career in the field of biology, working as a senior regulatory project manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and private companies. Her work focused on environmental regulations, where she ensured adherence to federal and state environmental laws.
