Booth is a boy’s name of Scandinavian origin. Meaning “dwelling” or “shelter,” it’s said to date back to the period after the Norman Conquest when it would’ve also translated to “cattle-herdsman’s hut.” Nowadays, Booth is used as both a first name and a family name, with just as many namesakes in fiction as in real life.
