Nikolaus

Nikolaus is a boy’s name of German origin, borrowed beautifully from the Greek name Nikolaos, meaning “victory of the people.” While Nikolaus might seem a little more built for the battlefield, it’s actually a name that’s most notable for pioneers in engineering and history. Nikolaus Otto was the first to discover a practical alternative to the steam engine. Sir Nikolaus Pevsner, a German-British art historian, was best known for his influential book series The Buildings of England.
