Palmeeda

The feminine name Palmeeda evokes images of swaying trees, sun-filled skies, and sandy beaches. Also spelled Palmida, Palmeeda's -da ending makes it a lovely alternative to Palmira, Palmita, and similar titles. Though they all have different spellings, these moniker's first four letters lead toward palma, a Latin word that means "palm tree." Interestingly, names formed with palma can also describe a "pilgrim," as palm branches hold deep Christian symbolism. Perhaps little Palmeeda will arrive on Palm Sunday, a Christian festival that commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
