Yanai

Yanai is a masculine name steeped in faith for the curious baby with many questions to ask. This Aramaic title is also written as Yannai and most likely derives from Iannaeus or Jannaeus, meaning “He will answer.” Yanai and its ancestors have weaved in and out of the shadows throughout history, a name whose roots are tricky to unravel yet borne by impactful figures. These include the Hasmonean ruler of Judea, Alexander Yannai, and the Jewish payyetan Yannai, whose influential poetry shaped the course of literature.
