'Teen Mom' Kailyn Lowry Faces Backlash After Admitting Why She's Anti-Vax
Kailyn Lowry is facing some heat after telling fans she chose not to vaccinate her youngest son, Lux, during her podcast, Coffee Convos.
During the episode, the Teen Mom star says she decided not to immunize her son after talking with other moms and “watching documentaries on Netflix.” Although it’s great to turn to your mom tribe for feedback from time to time, there are certain areas where an expert’s opinion is necessary. Anti-vax forums and pages typically lack the sound research needed to stake their claims.
After the podcast aired, Lowry spoke with InTouch Weekly about her anti-vax decision and the response she’s received. The mom shared the interview on Twitter, where many were quick to question her stance on immunization.
It’s this mindset that has landed the anti-vax movement on the World Health Organization (WHO)’s list of top health threats for 2019. It’s normal to have vaccine fears because you don’t want to do anything that may scare or hurt baby, but ultimately, vaccines do much more help than harm.
