“My advice is to live through that transition, without fear of the aftermath. The risk is to miss all the most beautiful things of motherhood as well,” Jenner shared.

Kylie Jenner isn’t afraid to get real about the ups and downs of motherhood.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair Italy, the reality TV star opened up about her experience with postpartum depression after the birth of her two children, Aire, 1, and Stormi, 5. Jenner spoke candidly about how her first bout with postpartum depression was “very difficult,” but that the second time around was “more manageable.”

The beauty mogul also had some wise words for other mothers who might be struggling with postpartum depression. “I would tell those women not to overthink things and to live all the emotions of that moment to the fullest,” she shared. "Stay inside that moment, even if it is painful. I know, in those moments you think that it will never pass, that your body will never be the same as before, that you will never be the same. That’s not true: the hormones, the emotions at that stage are much, much more powerful and bigger than you.”

“My advice is to live through that transition, without fear of the aftermath. The risk is to miss all the most beautiful things of motherhood as well."

Jenner also shared some of the most joyful moments of motherhood, including being alone with each of her babies in the hospital after they were born. “It’s such a unique and special situation, and it’s all about building with these little beings that you’re learning about,” she said. Another magical time for the new mom was bringing her children home. “It is perhaps the most beautiful moment,” she added.

It’s comforting to see public figures like Kylie Jenner opening up about the challenges of postpartum depression and sharing their experiences. It’s a reminder that mothers all over the world face similar difficulties and that it’s okay to seek help and support during this time.

If you are expecting and worried about your postpartum period, one way to ease anxiety is to make a plan. Just like a birth plan, decide what you need to prepare and what you want ahead of time in your postpartum plan.
