Millie Bobby Brown Adopts First Child with Husband Jake Bongiovi
Millie Bobby Brown is officially a mom!
The Stranger Things star and her husband Jake Bongiovi shared their exciting family news on Instagram with a text announcement. “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi,” the message read. The couple didn’t share additional details about their daughter, but some fans speculated the Willow tree featured in the announcement background might be a nod to their daughter’s name.
While Brown turned off comments on her announcement post, many fans expressed their excitement and support on her later uploads. “That sweet baby will know complete love because she will know you chose her out of anyone else you could have chosen. Adoption is beautiful and I hope you guys decide to adopt more in the future,” one wrote. Another added, “Congrats on adopting! You’re going to be an amazing mama. Forget these people saying otherwise and putting you down…You’re automatically a mommy when you begin to nurture and raise a child, whether birthed or adopted.”
The 21-year-old Enola Holmes actress has long shared her desire to start a family young. “My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it’s been my thing since before I met Jake,” Brown told Smartless hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett. “Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me.”
She continued: “So, yeah, I mean, Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family for me personally. It’s a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.”
Brown and Bongiovi—the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi—first connected on Instagram in 2021 and quickly became friends. By 2022, the two went public with their relationship, and in February 2024, Brown announced their engagement. They tied the knot later that year and now they’ve begun their family together!
