Happy news for the newlyweds! Interior designer Nate Berkus and TV personality Jeremiah Brent are expecting their first child via a surrogate!

Nate announced on September 24 that he and Jeremiah are going to be dads in a seriously sweet Facebook post:

“Wanted to share some exciting news…‘We have had the most special year and its JUST become even more beautiful. We are happy to announce that we are expecting our first child! While we can’t share much, we can say that thanks to a surrogate and the support of those we love we will officially be a family in the spring of 2015!’ — Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent.”

Maybe a baby furniture line is in the future for the designers, who got married in May at the New York Public Library. This is definitely a wonderful late birthday present for Nate, who turned 43-years-old on September 17.

We’re thrilled for the parents-to-be and can’t wait to see pictures next year!

Were you surprised to hear Nate and Jeremiah’s news?
